Shift Mechanism Cover Angled Bracket

The removal and installation of the shift mechanism cover angled bracket is shown on an automatic transmission shift mechanism in the illustration. The removal and installation of a shift mechanism cover angled bracket on a manual transmission shift mechanism is similar to that on an automatic transmission.

Removing

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove ignition key.

Manual Transmission

- Remove cover with selector lever boot => [ Cover with Selector Lever Boot, Removing And
Installing ] Shift Mechanism Cover and Securing Frame With Selector Lever Boot.

Automatic Transmission

- Version I: remove the selector lever cover => [ Version I: Removing and Installing the Selector
Lever Cover ] Shift Mechanism Cover and Securing Frame With Selector Lever Boot.

- Version II: remove the selector boot and cover => [ Version II: Removing and Installing the Selector
Lever Boot and Cover ] Shift Mechanism Cover and Securing Frame With Selector Lever Boot.

All:





- Remove center console. Refer to => [ Center Console ] Center Console.

- Remove tunnel sound absorption pad.

- Mark location of shift mechanism cover angled bracket - 2 - to center tunnel - 3 -.

- Remove nuts - 1 - (quantity: 4).

- Remove shift mechanism cover angled bracket - 2 - from center tunnel - 3 -.

Installation

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- When positioning shift mechanism cover angled bracket, note marking on center tunnel. Disregarding the installation location can lead to problems when installing the center console and attachments.
