• Hose Clamp Pliers (V.A.G 1275)





Removing and Installing





1 Shift Mechanism Cover

• For automatic transmission

• Version I: removing and installing => [ Version I: Removing and Installing the Selector
Lever Cover ]

• Version II: removing and installing => [ Version II: Removing and Installing the Selector
Lever Boot and Cover ]

2 Shift Mechanism Cover

• For manual transmission

3 Selector Lever Boot

• Connected firmly with securing frame - 5 -

4 Shift Knob

• Removing and installing together with securing frame => [ (Item 5) Securing Frame ]

5 Securing Frame

Removing

- Unclip securing frame - 5 -.

- Undo securing clip - 6 -.

- Remove selector lever boot with shift knob and securing frame.

Installation

- Place shift knob - 4 - on selector lever.

- Firmly press shift knob - 4 - down.

- Close the clamp - 6 - with Hose Clamp Pliers (V.A.G 1275).

- Clip securing frame - 5 - into shift mechanism cover.

6 Clamp

• Replace after each disassembly

Cover with Selector Lever Boot, Removing And Installing





- Open ashtray in center console.

- Remove cover - 1 - with selector lever boot - 2 - upward.

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.

Version I: Removing and Installing the Selector Lever Cover





- Open ashtray in center console.

- Remove selector lever cover upward - arrows -.

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.

Version II: Removing and Installing the Selector Lever Boot and Cover





- Unclip selector lever boot - 1 - on both sides and remove upward - arrows -.

- Grasp through opening and remove cover - 1 - upward - arrows -.





- Disconnect electrical connector.

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.
