Fuel Pump, Adapting after Replacing Fuel Delivery Unit, FSI and TFSI Engines
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing, and Information System (VAS 5051B)
• If the fuel pump is to be replaced on vehicles with the FSI and TFSI engine, the fuel pump must be adapted to the engine control module.
Procedure
• (VAS 5051B) connected to the data link connector (DLC)- arrow -.
• No faults in DTC memory.
• Engine running at idle.
Display on (VAS 5051B):
- Tap Vehicle Self-Diagnosis button - 1 - in selection.
Display on (VAS 5051B):
- Select the engine electronics vehicle system in the selection - 1 - and continue by pressing the -> button.
Display on (VAS 5051B):
- Select the basic setting function in the selection - 1 - and continue by pressing the -> button.
Display on (VAS 5051B):
Vehicles with a 2.0L FSI engine:
- In button field - 1 -, press buttons 2 4 3 for display group 243 and confirm entry by pressing Q button.
Vehicles with a 2.0L TFSI engine:
- In button field - 1 -, press buttons 1 0 3 for display group 103 and confirm entry by pressing Q button.
All Vehicles:
- Press the Activate button - A - to start the basic setting.
Display on (VAS 5051B):
- Check reading in display field - 4 -.
Appearing in the display: ADP is running. After the fuel pump adaptation is completed, the display shows ADP OK.
• If ADP not OK appears: check the DTC memory.
- End the basic setting function by pressing the <- button.
- Select the end output function in the selection.
- Turn the ignition off and disconnect the data link connector (DLC).
