Rear Lid Hinge

• If both hinges and rear lid are replaced, hinges must first be attached to rear lid and then rear lid attached in position flush to vehicle with nuts.

• Follow bolt tightening sequence when doing so.





1 Combination screw

• Follow combination screw tightening sequence.

• Tighten screws in sequence item - 1 -: - 3 - and then to position - 2 - to 21 Nm.

• 21 Nm

2 Combination screw

• Do not remove when removing rear lid.

• Screw secures adjusting piece - 5 - to lid.

• 21 Nm

3 Combination screw

• 21 Nm

4 Lid hinge

Removal:

• If both lid hinges are replaced, these must first be installed on lid side, then bring lid with hinges flush to vehicle and tighten nuts - 7 - to 21 Nm.

- Remove D-pillar trim and rear roof trim.

- Remove rear lid hinge cover.

• To avoid damage to lid or body, support lid and protect it from falling down.

- Remove combination screw - 1 -.

- Remove hex head nut - 5 - and remove hinge.

Installing:

- Install hinge on body and secure with screw - 1 - on rear lid.

- Tighten bolts - 1 - to 21 Nm.

- Secure hinge with nuts - 5 - and tighten to 21 Nm

- Press on hinge cover.

5 Adjusting piece

• When removing and installing a rear lid (for example, when replacing a seal), do not remove adjusting piece from rear lid.

• Rear lid is secured with adjusting piece and must not be readjusted.

6 Spacer

• Must always be installed

• If spacer is not installed, rear lid hinges can bend and lid is no longer in correct installation position

7 Hex nut

• 21 Nm

Installing spacer





1 Spacer

• To install, slide spacer onto hinge arm=> [ Spacer installation position ] until it engages.

• Before installing gas-filled struts, push wedge - 3 - in - direction of arrow - until it makes contact with roof - 4 - with light pre-tension.

2 Rear lid hinge axle

• Slide spacer sideways onto axle.

• When installed correctly, spacer must engage cleanly.

3 Spacer slide

• Must contact roof with pre-tension.

4 Roof

Spacer installation position





- when installed correctly, spacer - 1 - must enclose top and bottom - arrow - of hinge arm - 2 --

Hood hinge cover





- Cover is placed on rear lid hinge.

- Loosen side locking tabs on cover - 2 - and remove from hinge - 1 -.

- To install, position retainer tabs in catches on hinge arm and press opposite side of cover down completely.

- You must hear the cover lock in place.
