Headlamp, after Replacing Components at Front End
• Adjust the headlamps after performing any work that could have affected their adjustment.
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Adjustment Gauge (3371)
CAUTION!
Danger to life due to high voltage.
Removing
- With ignition switched off, disconnect battery Ground (GND) cable. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
- Remove front bumper cover.
- Remove bolts - 1 through 3 -.
- Remove headlamp toward front.
- Disconnect connector.
Installing
• Tightening specification, refer to => [ HID Headlamps Assembly Overview ] HID Headlamps Assembly Overview.
- Check adjustment nut - 1 - of adjusting element for smooth running - arrows -.
- Turn adjustment nut completely downward, but do not tighten.
- Install the headlamp and turn the bolts - 1 through 3 - 2 rotations each.
- Bring front bumper cover to installation position (do not bolt on).
- Align dimensions - a through c - of headlamp - 1 - opposite to bumper cover - 2 - and fender - 3 - using (3371).
• Dimension - a - = 2.3 mm
• Dimension - b - = 2 mm
• Dimension - c - = 1.2 mm
• Headlamp must be flush toward outer edge of fender.
• Lower edge of headlamp must be parallel to upper edge of bumper.
• When tightening the bolts, the adjustment nut of the adjusting element turns automatically towards the location point of the headlamp housing and locates it.
- Tighten bolt - 1 -, do not press bolt when tightening so that adjustment bolt of adjusting element can turn freely.
- Remove front bumper cover.
- Tighten bolts - 2 - and - 3 -, while doing so align headlamp flush to outer edge of fender.
- Install front bumper cover.
- Check gap dimensions again, repeat adjustment of gap dimensions if necessary, as described above.
- Connect battery. Required actions => [ Vehicles with : ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
- Adjust headlamps after installing.
