Selector Lever Cable, Bringing into Basic Setting

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Socket and key (T40031)

Procedure





- Unclip the mounting frame for the selector lever boot - 1 - from the center console and lift it upward and off - arrows -.

- Place the selector lever in the "D" position.





Before performing the basic setting, make sure that the clamping screw is tightened. The clamping screw is accessible through the hole - arrow - in the selector mechanism when the selector lever is in the "D" position.

- Move the selector lever into the "Tiptronic gate".

- Make sure clamping screw is tightened to 13 Nm, to do this, use the socket and key (T40031).

- Place the selector lever in the "P" position.

- Remove the rear noise insulation by loosening the fasteners - 1 and 2 - and, if equipped the - arrow -.





- Remove the bolts - arrow - for the selector lever cable bracket.





Make sure selector lever is in the "P" position.





- Push the selector shaft lever - 2 - on the transmission all the way back (in the illustration shown all the way to the right) until the parking lock engages.

When the parking lock is engaged, it must not be possible to turn both front wheels in one direction at the same time.

- Make sure that selector lever cable - 1 - has been routed free of kinks and tension.

- Tighten the bolts - arrows - for the selector lever cable bracket.





- Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable Adjusting, from 12.05 ] Procedures.

Tightening Specifications
