Affected Vehicles
Condition
This RVU has been proactively released to prevent the following condition from occurring in the vehicle:
Increased air humidity or odors in the vehicle interior.
This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) is in effect until December 14, 2010. After that date, this RVU will expire and no longer be in effect.
Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:
^ Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 61B5 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.
^ Vehicle must be within the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
^ Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin.
^ Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.
Technical Background
On Audi TT Roadster vehicles manufactured within a specific period it is possible that the water drain hoses in the convertible roof compartment can develop a leak, in which case the water will not drain off as intended.
Production Solution
Service
1. Obtain removal wedge 3409.
2. Using removal wedge 3409, carefully unclip back panel cover (Figure 2, 2) toward front in the area of the two rollover bars (Figure 2, 3).
3. Lift back panel cover off body in direction of arrow and remove.
4. Detach trim (Figure 3, 1) from center storage compartment (Figure 3, 3).
5. Open lid (Figure 3, 2) of center storage compartment.
6. Starting at the top, unclip back panel side trim (Figure 3, 4) from back panel using removal wedge 3409.
7. Unplug electrical connector at rear left treble loudspeaker (R14) and rear right treble loudspeaker (R16).
8. Remove rear left mid-range and bass loudspeaker (R159) and rear right mid-range and bass loudspeaker (R160).
Bolt 2 tightening torque: 2 Nm.
9. Replace drain hose (Figure 5, 1) on both sides of vehicle.

^ Destroy and properly dispose of removed parts in accordance with local, state and federal/provincial environmental regulations.
^ If you have exhausted your allocated parts and you require additional parts for vehicles affected by this RVU but have exceeded your Upper Order Limit, please submit your requests for additional parts via email. Be sure to include the affected VINs with your order. Prior to submitting your request, ensure that each vehicle has the 61B5 code open in ElsaWeb. Your order will be reviewed and processed accordingly.
