Telephone System through 10.31.2008

The telephone system consists of the cell phone pre-installation.

The telephone transceiver (R36) is integrated in the MMI Infotainment via the CAN/MOST-BUS. It also has a Bluetooth Antenna (R152).

The Telephone base plate (R126) is installed in the center console. The operation is performed via the Multimedia Control Head (E380) (MOST), the Radio (CAN) or via the Cellular Telephone (R54).

The microphones for the microphone unit in front roof module (R164) are integrated in the front interior lamp (W1). One microphone is connected ( Telephone Microphone (R38) ) with the Telephone Transceiver (R36).

Fault finding is performed via "Guided Fault Finding" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Notes on Bluetooth technology

A standardized radio connection system is used to transmit data between Telephone Transceiver and Telephone Handset (R37) / Cellular Telephone (R54) - Bluetooth technology.

An additional transmitter/receiver unit is installed in the Telephone Transceiver. A separate Bluetooth Antenna (R152) connects the Telephone Transceiver and Telephone Base plate/ Cellular Telephone (R54) so that the Telephone Handset (R37) / Cellular Telephone (R54) can be operated cordless.

The range of the radio wave connection is approximately 10 meters (33 ft.).
