HID Headlamps Assembly Overview

• Adjust the headlamps after performing any work that could have affected their adjustment.





1 Headlamp Housing

• Removing and installing after replacing components at front end, refer to => [ Headlamp, after Replacing Components at Front End ] Headlamp, after Replacing Components at Front End

• Removing and installing when reusing current headlamp, refer to => [ Headlamp, when Reusing Current Headlamp ] Headlamp, when Reusing Current Headlamp

• The left headlamp reflector adjustment solenoid (N395)/right headlamp reflector adjustment solenoid (N396), left swivel module position sensor (G474)/right swivel module position sensor (G475), / left dynamic cornering light motor (v318)/right dynamic cornering light motor (v319) cannot be replaced individually if faulty.

2 Gasket

• Replace if damaged

3 Power Output Stage

• Vehicles with AFS only

• Left headlamp power output stage (J667)

• Right headlamp power output stage (J668)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Headlamp Power Output Stages ] Headlamp Power Output Stages

4 Bolt

• 1 Nm

5 Light Bulb

Audi A6

• For daytime running lights

• Left daytime running lamp (L174)

• Right daytime running lamp (L175)

• 12 V, 21 W (H21W)

• Changing bulb, refer to => [ Daytime Running Lamps, Replacing Bulbs ] Daytime Running Lamps, Replacing Bulbs

Audi S6

• For fog lamp

• Left front fog lamp (L22)

• Right front fog lamp (L23)

• 12 V, 55 W (H7 - W5W - white)

• Changing bulb, refer to => [ Fog Lamp Bulb, Audi S6 and Audi RS 6 ] Service and Repair

6 Headlamp Range Control Positioning Motor

• Left headlamp beam adjustment motor (V48)

• Right headlamp beam adjustment motor (V49)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Left and Right Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor ] Left and Right Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor

7 Bolt

• 1 Nm

8 Lamp Socket

• For light bulb for daytime running lights

9 Housing Cover

10 Ignition Coil for Gas Discharge Lamp

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Ignition Coil for Gas Discharge Lamp ] Ignition Coil for Gas Discharge Lamp

11 Lamp Socket

• For light bulb for turn signal

12 Front Turn Signal Lamp

• Left front turn signal lamp (M5)

• Right front turn signal lamp (M7)

• 12 V, 28/7 W (orange)

• Changing bulb, refer to => [ Front Turn Signal Lamp Bulbs ] Front Turn Signal Lamp Bulbs

13 Gas-Discharge Lamp

• Left high intensity gas discharge (HID) lamp (L13)

• Right high intensity gas discharge (HID) Lamp (L14)

• 35 W (D2S)

• Changing bulb, refer to => [ HID Headlamp Bulbs ] HID Headlamp Bulbs

14 Gasket

• Replace if damaged

15 HID Headlamp Control Module

• Left high-intensity gas discharge lamp control module (J343)

• Right high-intensity gas discharge lamp control module (J344)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ HID Lamp Control Module ] HID Lamp Control Module

16 Bolt

• 1 Nm

17 Adjusting Element

• For adjustment of headlamp to bumper contour

• Quantity: 3

18 Bolt

• 8 Nm
