Entry Assistance Release Cable A
Removing
• Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components ] Description and Operation.
• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
- Remove front seat:
• Standard and Sport Manual Seat. Refer to => [ Manual Standard Front Seats ] Manual Standard Front Seats.
- Attach front seat to Fixture For Seat Repair (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Front Seat, Installing on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136 ] Front Seat, Installing on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136.
- Remove tunnel side trim panel. Refer to => [ Trim, Tunnel Side ] Trim, Tunnel Side.
- Move the backrest forward as far as the stop using the handwheel.
- Remove the entry assistance release cable A guide - 2 - from the seat frame.
- Disengage the entry assistance release cable A - 1 - at the backrest hinge.
- Disengage the entry assistance cable A bracket - 2 - from the retaining plate on the seat forward/back adjustment - 1 -.
• Ignore - 3 - and - arrow -.
- Disengage the entry assistance release cable A - 1 - at the seat forward/back adjuster - 2 - and remove it.
Installation
• Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components ] Description and Operation.
• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
Make sure the backrest is in the basic position, i.e. it must be moved forward as far as the stop using the handwheel.
- Engage the entry assistance release cable B - 1 - in at the seat forward/back adjuster - 2 -.
- Engage the entry assistance cable A bracket - 2 - to the seat forward/back adjustment - 1 -.
• Ignore - 3 - and - arrow -.
- Engage the entry assistance release cable A - 1 - at the backrest hinge.
- Install the entry assistance release cable A guide - 2 - on the seat frame.
- Adjust the entry assistance release cable A. Refer to => [ Entry Assistance Release Cable A, Adjusting ] Entry Assistance Release Cable A, Adjusting.
Further installation is performed in reverse sequence of removal, but observe the following:
• Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.
Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.
- Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on. Refer to.
• If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.
