Center Hood Lock Control Cable

Removing






- Remove bumper. Refer to => [ Front Bumper ] Front Bumper.

- Remove the bolts - arrows -.

- Remove air guide - 1 -.

- Remove the nuts - 1 - and bolts - 3 - and - 4 -.






- Remove brace - 6 -.

- Detach bottom theft protection - 2 - from lock carrier - 5 - - arrows - and remove.

- Pry up retaining clips - 3 - on control cable guide - 2 -.






- Remove the bolts - arrows -.

- Remove front hood lock - 1 - from the lock carrier.

- Push the release lever on control cable - 1 - in the - direction of arrow A -.






- Move the bracket with the control cable in the - direction of arrow B - and detach from front hood lock - 2 -.

- Remove the engine compartment E-box cover by pushing both bars in the - direction of the arrow -.






- Push foam grommet - 7 - on control cable mount - 6 - to the side.






- Cut through the cable tie - arrow -.

- Release the retaining clips and open the cover.

- Remove control cable bracket - 4 - from control cable mount - 1 -.

- Detach the control cable fitting for the front lid lock from connecting piece - 2 -.

• Ignore - 3 and 5 -.

- Conduct the control cable forward through the opening in the lock carrier.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• When installing, position cable ties in same place.

- Install the engine compartment E-box cover.

- Install the front lid lock. Refer to => [ Center Hood Lock ] Center Hood Lock.

- Install the bumper. Refer to => [ Front Bumper ] Front Bumper.
