1 Rear lid
• A second person is needed during removal and installation to support and hold the rear lid.
• Removing
- Remove the rear lid trim panel.
- Disconnect the electrical wires and remove from the lid.
- Remove left and right gas-filled struts. Refer to => [ Gas-filled Strut ] Gas-filled Strut.
- Remove the bolts at the connection for the rear lid hinge/rear lid, refer to => [ Rear Lid Hinge ] Rear Lid Hinge.
- Remove the rear lid.
• Installation: in reverse order.
• Adjusting:
• The gas damper must be attached before installing a new rear lid.
- Perform height and length adjustments for the upper rear lid above the rear lid hinge.
- Perform lower height adjustment over lid lock.
- Align the lid so it is centered according to the gap dimensions => [ Gap Dimensions ] Rear Lid, Adjusting.
- Adjust stop buffers => [ (Item 2) Rubber stop ].

2 Rubber stop
• If lid is adjusted correctly, stop buffers must lightly contact body when lid is closed.
• Adjusting => [ Removing ] Stop Buffer.
3 Pop rivet
• To remove, drill out rivet head and drive out rivet shaft.
4 Rear lid lock
• To remove, remove combi-bolts and disengage cable.
5 Nuts
• 21 Nm
6 Cable for emergency release
7 Striker
• Adjusting:
- Tighten combi-bolts => [ (Item 5) Nuts ] by hand (it must still be possible to slide striker).
- Carefully close the rear lid so that it is flush with the side panels.
- Carefully open lid and tighten bolts => [ (Item 5) Nuts ].
8 Nuts
• 21 Nm
9 Protective film
• Self-adhesive.
• Remove protective paper before applying.
10 Hood hinge
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Rear Lid Hinge ] Rear Lid Hinge
