Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor (V48)/(V49)

Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] Service Precautions.

• Headlamps must be adjusted after performing measures that could influence headlamp adjustment. Refer to => [ Headlamps Checking and Adjusting Conditions ] Headlamps Checking and Adjusting Conditions.

Removing






- Remove headlamp. Refer to => [ Headlamps ] Headlamps.

- If equipped, remove the bolt - 2 -.

- Release spring clip - arrow - and remove low beam/daytime running light bulb housing cover - 1 - from headlamp housing.

- Remove screws - arrows -.






- By swiveling control motor - 1 -, push ball end of positioning stem downwards out of socket.

- Press reflector forward and remove adjusting motor.

- Disconnect electrical connector - 2 -.

Installing

• Tightening specification, refer to => [ Halogen Headlamps Overview ] Halogen Headlamps Overview.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- First reconnect connector and insert adjusting axle ball head into reflector ball head mount from below by pulling reflector back.

• The headlamps must be adjusted if the adjusting motors are removed and installed or replaced. Refer to => [ Headlamps Checking and Adjusting Conditions ] Headlamps Checking and Adjusting Conditions.

- Close the housing lid.

- Secure housing cover using wire clamp.

- Install the headlamp. Refer to => [ Headlamps ] Headlamps.
