Lower Transverse Link
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench 40-200 Nm (V.A.G 1332)
Removing
- Measure dimension from center of wheel to lower edge of wheel housing. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing, Lifting To Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.
- Remove the wheel.
- Remove the coil spring. Refer to => [ Coil Spring ] Coil Spring.
- Remove the bolt - arrow - from the lower transverse link - 1 -.
- If the vehicle has a vehicle level sensor, then remove the bolts - 2 -.
- Mark, e.g. using a felt-tip marker, position of eccentric bolt - arrow B - to subframe.
- Disengage the exhaust system rear section and lower it.
- Remove bolt - arrow B -.
- Remove the lower transverse link.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Transverse link connections may only be carried out of dimension between wheel hub center and lower edge of wheel housing, measured before assembly, is achieved => [ Wheel Bearing, Lifting To Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.
- Observe the applied marking for the eccentric bolt - arrow B - to the subframe.
- If the vehicle has automatic head lamp range control, then perform a basic setting on the headlamps.
- If the vehicle has electronic damping (Audi Magnetic Ride), then program the control position. Refer to vehicle diagnostic tester.
