Parking Aid Control Module (J446), Vehicles with Trailer Hitch

The parking aid control module is integrated in the vehicle electrical system control module (J519) depending on the date of manufacture from MY 2013 and cannot be replaced separately if defective. Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

- Replace the vehicle electrical system control module. Refer to => [ Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519) ] Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519).

- If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Removing






- Open the right luggage compartment side trim cover.

- Remove the nuts - 1 - and - 3 -.

- Disengage the electrical wire from the guides - arrows - on the retaining frame - 2 - and disconnect the cable tie - 4 -.

- Remove the retaining frame upward.

- Disconnect electrical connectors - 2 through 4 -.






- Release the retaining clip - arrow - and remove the parking aid control module (J446) - item 5 - from the retaining frame - 1 -.

Installing

Tightening specification, refer to => [ Parking Aid Control Module Frame Bolt Tightening Specifications ] Parking Aid Overview.

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

When installing, install the cable ties at the same location.
