Vehicle Information
Condition
Customer may report that the transmission warning light comes on. There are no drivability/starting concerns. GFF scan shows fault code P060600 (Control Module Malfunctioning, Sporadic) stored in the transmission control module, J217 (02).
Technical Background
The entry is caused by an overly sensitive diagnosis in the transmission control module.
Production Solution
New software in the transmission control module addressed the condition.
Service
If the following conditions apply, update the transmission control module using the SVM Update Instructions that follow. If the following conditions do not apply, continue the repair with GFF.
^ GFF Scan shows fault code P060600 (Control Module Malfunctioning, Sporadic) stored in the transmission control module.
^ The vehicle has an affected software version according to the table shown.
SVM Update Instructions
1. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the instrument cluster (J217) using the SVM action code as listed in the table above if necessary.
