Condition
Customer complaint:

^ The vehicle cannot be started sporadically.

^ The yellow gearbox warning light may be illuminated.

Workshop findings:
One (or both) of the following entries are logged in the respected modules:

^ In J623 (01 - ECM): DTC P157000 (Control Module Locked, sporadic)

^ In J217 (02 - TCM): DTC P170100 (Transmission control module locked, sporadic)

Technical Background
The remote key the customer is using is transmitting incomplete immobilizer information to the vehicle; resulting in the condition.

Production Solution
Not applicable.

Service

1. Replace the affected remote key that was being used when the issues occurred.

2. SVM Update Instructions

Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.





Update the J393 (Comfort System Central Control Module - 46) using the SVM action code as listed in the table above if necessary.
