The HR-DATE Button

HR-DATE is a dual function button. The first push brings up the time-of-day. A second push of the button displays the date. If pushed once again, the display will go back to the time of day.

Note: The computer is not programmed for Leap Years, so a correction in the date must be made every four years.

To set the clock, turn the ignition switch to either the accessory or start/run position. After the initial connection to a power supply, such as by connecting the battery, the display will read four dashes and the letters UHR. This is the German display.

Begin by changing the display to the American language (push the AVG MPG button once, then the Changeover Contact). The display will now read 0000AM.

To get to PM, press the numbered button which reads 1000 twice. The display will now read 0000PM.

Now, enter the correct time with the numbered buttons. Remember, each numbered button controls only the display digit directly above it. Each push on any given button advances the corresponding number on the display one digit. If a button is held in, the corresponding number on the display will advance one digit every half second.

Once the correct time has been entered into the computer, press the Changeover Contact (the small flush-mounted button on the lower right corner of the panel) one time. This starts the clock. A period will appear between the hours and minutes, indicating the the clock is operating.

To set the clock to the exact second, wait for a radio time signal before pressing the Changeover Contact.

To set the date, press the HR-DATE button once. The display will read 0000 DATE.

Note: the date cannot be set unless.the clock function has been programmed into the computer and is operating.

Now press the Changeover Contact, and enter the date with the numbered buttons. Press the contact once again to start the computer. The period will appear between the day and date, indicating that the date function is operating.

Note: In the American or British language, the display is shown in month, then day. In German, the display is in day-month.

Corrections are made by first getting the display into the desired function, i.e. Time or Date, then pushing the Changeover Contact. Now enter the correct numbers, and press the Changeover Contact once again.
