Fuel Tank: Service and Repair

REMOVING AND INSTALLING FUEL TANK





- Pull up rear Seat cushion and take off insulation sheet.





- Unscrew cover.
- Pull off plug receptacle (1).
- Loosen and pull off hoses (1 ... 5).

Installation Note:
- Use new hose clamps.





- Pull off plugs on fuel level transmitter and fuel pump.
- Disconnect fuel hoses.





- Pull off plug on fuel level transmitter.





- Draw off gasoline with a scavenging pump

Caution!
Conform with safety precautions and specifications of pertinent country.





- Remove muffler assembly.
- Remove heat shield and connecting pipe.





- Remove propeller shaft.
- Loosen hose clamp and pull off hose.





- Loosen hose clamps (1 and 2) and pull off hoses.

- Unscrew fuel filter, if applicable.





- Remove stone guards left and right.





- Support tank, if necessary.
- Unscrew bolts and nuts.





- Take off fuel tank on the right-hand side first.
- Loosen and pull off hose (8).
- Remove strips of adhesive tape.
