SUBJECT: Vacuum Hose Between Intake Manifold and Fuel Pressure Regulator
MODELS: All
Complaint: Idle speed fluctuation.
Troubleshooting
Hint: When above complaint occurs and before troubleshooting any further, check for possible air leakage at the vacuum hose between intake manifold and fuel pressure regulator.
Cause: Crack in vacuum hose between intake manifold and fuel pressure regulator, especially at fitting of fuel pressure regulator.
Correction: Cut off and discard cracked hose section. Reconnect remainder of hose if it is long enough to be fitted without tension or squeezed shut at the bend in the line. If necessary, install a new rubber hose (P/N 51 73 1 257 971) of appropriate length.
