SUBJECT:
Input Bearing Cover Oil Leak

MODELS:
All with 260.5 Transmission

Situation:
Oil leakage may occur if the input bearing cover is not positioned correctly.

Correction:





Simplified assembly is assured as the words TOP/BOTTOM and an arrow have been added to the cover. The arrow (see illustration) should point directly down toward the layshaft.


Parts
Information:
Only bearing covers with the above markings should be used. The previous version cover should be returned to the Parts System.

Note:
The new version input bearing cover can be ordered under the same part number (23 11 1 228 228).
