Cruise Control Actuator
MODELS:
Certain 1986 and 1987 (see list)
Problem:
The Cruise Control may disengage while driving and cannot be resumed or reset.
Cause:
The cruise control actuator may have a defect that will allow this situation to occur.
Correction:
Every vehicle within the VIN ranges listed must have the cruise control actuator checked per the Inspection Procedure.

Inspection Procedure:
Check the manufacturing date found on the cruise control actuator.
If this date is 22/86, 23/86 or 24/86 replace the actuator. If any other date is found no repair is needed.
After performing the inspection, obtain a label (P/N 01 99 9 750 968) and
a) emboss your BMW dealer warranty number in the middle of the label.
b) affix the label to the cruise control actuator as shown by the callout a.
Warranty Status:
Reimbursement under the terms of the BMW Limited Warranty of 3 Years/36,000 Miles.
