SUBJECT: Rear Window Defogger
MODELS: 325 i Convertible
General
Information: A hot air blower (similar to a hair dryer) located between the rear seat and the rear bulkhead is used to defog the rear window.
If complaints are received about poor operation, the heating coils in the blower can be checked using the ammeter in the BMW Service Tester.
The current measured across fuse #8 should be between 8-11A. If the heating coils are defective, a reading of only 1-2A will be obtained.
This procedure will provide a more accurate check of the heat output than can be obtained by using your hand.
