SUBJECT: Pivot Pins for Front Seat Cushions
MODELS: All 7 Series (E32); 3 Series (E30) with Standard Seats; 5 and 6 Series Equipped with Sports Seats
Situation: The above vehicles use an expandable pivot pin for the connection between the seat cushion frame assembly and the seat rails. This pin may not expand correctly if it is removed and then reinstalled, thereby causing a seat rattle. Also, if the pin is not installed correctly it may be deformed, which will cause the same problem.
Correction: Whenever the pins connecting the seat cushion frame assembly to the seat rails are removed, new pins must be installed to ensure a proper connection.
