The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control module constantly monitors the system for defects. Recognized defects are stored in defect memory and the driver alerted via the SRS lamp. A series of coded flashes from the SRS lamp will inform the technician as to what the problem is.

Flash Code Initiation
A) Turn the ignition "Off".
Diagnostic Plug 62 1 250:
B) Connect airbag diagnosis plug 62 1 250 in the engine diagnostic socket (pins 1 and 6 are bridged), use adapter 62 1 140 if necessary.
C) Turn the ignition lock to position "1".
- Flash codes will now run off and the number of flashes must be counted.
