EML defect code (throttle valve reduction, increase, preset value):

Other indicators:

- In the case of a static defect, when the ignition is switched on, ASC-PALA lights briefly (approx. 150 msec) then remains oft. After starting the engine "ASC defect" appears in the display unit of the instrument cluster.

Check:

Wires from

- Pin 43 to EML control unit Pin 13
- Pin 48 to EML control unit Pin 35
- Pin 46 to EML control unit Pin 34
- Pin 47 to DME control unit Pin 50

DME:

- Check for correct connection, continuity (resistance) or a short to ground (-) or positive (+).
- Caution: Detach connector at the EML and DME control units for measurements (defect code memories are cleared).
