Test 14.1:

DME defect code (terminal 1):

No engine speed due to wire fault

Other Indicators:

- In the case of static defect without control, '.ASC defect" appears in the instrument cluster display 1 sec after a speed of 26 km(h has been exceeded.
- In the case of intermittently occurring defect: No effect on current control phase. "ASC defect" appears in the instrument cluster display after 1 sec above a speed of 25 km/h.

Test:

- Check wire from Pin 38 to A200 DME control unit, Pin 1 for continuity, a break or a short to ground (-)
- Check shield Pin 41 to Pin 3 for continuity, a break or a short to positive (+).
- If necessary replace DME control unit.
