Test Step 2.2

Test 2.2:

Engine in LL: ASC display "defect", PALA OFF, ABS lamp goes out:

Do not run engine, carry out ASC check:

Measure resistance:

Ground terminal
Pin 3 to Pin 18 to Pin 36 < 1 Ohm

Shield terminal 1
Pin 41 to Pin 18 (-) 3 ... 5 Ohm

Measure voltage with ignition ON
Pin 1 (+) to Pin 18 (-) >11.5 V

Terminal 1 wire 38 ignition ON Pin 38 (+) to Pin 18 (-) >11.5 V

DKE wire, ignition ON
Pin 48 (+) to Pin 18 (-) 7.5 ... 9.0 V
Check wire 48 to EML control unit for a break or short to ground

DKR wire, ignition ON
Pin 46 (+) to Pin 18 (-) 7.5 ... 9.0 V
Check wire 46 to EML control unit for a break of short to ground

DKV wire, ignition ON

Accelerator pedal in LL
Pin 43 (+) to Pin 18 (-) 0 ... 0.5 V (3 ... 4 V alternating voltage). Check wire 46 to EML control unit for a break or short to ground.

Press accelerator pedal
Pin 43 (+) to Pin 18 - voltage increases.

Check EML control unit

PATA wire - PATA pressed - Pin 54 (+) to Pin 18 (-) >11.5 V - check wire 43 to EML control unit for a break or short to ground.

If the PALA goes out after approx. 150 ms with the ignition on, remains off and the display "ASC defect" appears after starting the engine, the problem is in the engine management system.

See test 10.1

Handbrake switch (ignition ON)

- Check handbrake switch:
- Handbrake not applied Pin 52 (+) to Pin 18 (-) >10.5 V
- Handbrake applied Pin 52 (+) to Pin 18 (-) <0.5 V
