Component Tests and General Diagnostics
Central Locking System (ZV/ZKE):Component Testing:
ZV with Blocking: Test Lock Contacts of Driver's/Passenger's Door:
Test lock contact for lock/arrest:
Resistance measurement at the connector combination of the door lock. Detach plug connection to the wire harness. Measure between Pin 3 (3-pin connector, black) and Pin 2 (2-pin connector yellow). Operate door lock with car key. Resistance < 1 Ohm in lock setting: Lock and arrest. In neutral setting resistance = infinite.
Renew microswitch (lock contact) it detective.
Test lock contact for unlock/arrest:
Resistance measurement at the connector combination of the door lock. Detach plug connection to the wire harness. Measure between Pin 3 (3-pin connector, black) and Pin 1(2-pin connector, yellow). Operate door lock with car key. Resistance < 1 Ohm in lock setting: Unlock and arrest. In neutral setting resistance = infinite.
Renew microswitch (lock contact) if defective.
ZV Motor Drive with Blocking: Test Pin Contacts of ZV Motor Drive, Driver's"passenger's Door:
Block Diagram:
Central locking (ZV) drives for driver's and passenger's door. Locked status.
Pin 3 (lock) at the passenger's door is not connected to the wire harness.
- Chamber 3 in connector X641 is not assigned -.
Test pin contact for unlock:
Measure resistance at ZV motor drive between Pin 6 and Pin 5.
Pull apart ZV motor drive (unlocked position).
Nominal value: Resistance < 1 Ohm.
Renew central locking (ZV) drive if detective.
Test pin contact for lock:
- driver's door only -
Measure resistance at ZV drive motor between Pin 3 and Pin 5.
Push together ZV motor drive (locked position)
Nominal value: Resistance < 1 Ohm.
Renew central locking (ZV) drive if defective.
ZV Motor Drive with Decoupling: Test Pin Contacts of ZV Motor Drives, driver's/Passenger's Door:
Pin Assignments:
Pin Explanation
1,2,3 Wires to relay module, electric motor activation
4,5 Wires to general module, signaling lock/unlock
6 Wires to fuse, B+ for pin contact
Test of pin contact (S1):
Measure at ZV motor drive, connector unplugged.
ZV motor drive in locked status: Measure resistance between Pin 6 and Pin 5
ZV motor drive in unlocked status: Measure resistance between Pin 6 and Pin 4
Nominal value: Resistance < 1 Ohm.
Renew central locking (ZV) drive if defective.
Pin Contact of ZV Motor Drive for Rear Lid:
Block Diagram:
ZV motor drive for rear lid. Unlocked status.
Test pin contact for unlock:
Measure resistance at ZV motor drive between Pin 2 and Pin 3. Push
together ZV motor drive (unlocked position).
Nominal value: Resistance < 1 Ohm.
Renew central locking (ZV) drive it defective.
Measure pin contact for lock:
Measure resistance at ZV drive between Pin 1 and Pin 3. Pull apart ZV
motor drive (locked position).
Nominal value: Resistance < 1 Ohm.
Renew central locking (ZV) drive if detective.
