Code 2 (Vehicle Speed Signal Value Not Plausible)

VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL VALUE NOT PLAUSIBLE
Explanation
This defect code is stored when the vehicle speed signal corresponds to a value >167 mph (>270 km/h).

NOTE: As long as the vehicle speed signal (speed-A) is detected as being defective, the Electronic Throttle Control (EML) uses a substitute value of approx. 20 mph (32 km/h) for the function.

Troubleshooting
- Feed in vehicle speed signal and compare screen display (status monitoring) with speedometer display.
NOTE: Do not apply signal before the diagnostic link is set up.
- Check wire (speed-A) from the instrument cluster to the EML control unit.
- Check signal form and time progression of the (speedA) signal with scope.
- Proceed with other displayed scan tool diagnostic instructions where applicable.
