Front Door Latch: Service and Repair

REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR LOCK

Note: Some pictures show the sheet metal parts cut off for better understanding.


Remove door trim panel.




Pull off plastic sheet.

Installation:
- Replace damaged plastic sheet.




Unscrew door remote control.

Installation:
- Preload door remote control lightly.




Two Door Cars:
Unscrew reversing lever.

Installation:
- Insert twisting lock in opening.




Two Door Cars:
Installation:
- Engage remote control linkage in holder on protective rap of the reversing lever.




Four Door Cars:
Unclip remote control holder.




Cars with Central Locks:
Unscrew bolts.

Pull off plug.

Disengage drive.




Two Door Arrangement:
1 = Lock
2 = Locking linkage
3= Door ramote control linkage
4 = Drive/connecting link




Four Door Arrangement:
1 = Lock
2 = Locking linkege
3 = Door remote control linkage
4 = Drive/connecting link




Unscrew bolts.




Disengage lock in lever on the lock cylinder.

Remove lock complete with remote control.

Convertibles:
Remove lock cylinder. Service and Repair

Installation:
- Lubricate lock with grease.
