Door Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair
REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR LOCK CYLINDER ASSEMBLYNote: Some pictures show the sheet metal cut off for better understanding.
Remove door trim panel.
Pull off plastic sheet partially.
Installation:
- Replace damaged plastic sheet.
Pull off retainer.
Version with Lock Heating:
Pull off retainer complete with heating ring.
Push out lock and remove washer.
Installation:
- Wide opening of washer faces up.
Installation:
- Lubricate lock cylinder with grease.
Note: The lock cylinder can be ordered from Parts by quoting the code number.
The old tumblers must be used as samples when using a lock cylinder repair set. Note the number die stamped on the tumbler. Insert the tumbler of the repair kit having the same number in the pertinent chamber of the new lock cylinder together with a new spring, lubricated with the supplied grease.
Driver's Door:
Installation;
- Check for correct fit of spring in cars with central locks and unlocking arrest.
Installation:
- Place drive for microswitch on holder,
Installation:
- Plug in microswitch and secure it with a clamp.

1 = Lock cylinder
2 = Drive for microswitch
3 = Microswitch
4= Clamp
5 = Holder
Checking Microswitch:
Switch pressed = approx. 0 ohm
Switch opened = approx. infinate ohms
Front Passenger's Door:
Installation:
- Place drive for microswitch on holder in cars with central locks.
Plug in microswitch and secure it with a clamp.

Checking Microswitch:
Switch pressed = approx. 0 ohm
Switch opened = approx. infinate ohms
