INDICATOR LAMP FLASHES - (Siemens Diagnosis Unit)
The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control module constantly monitors the system for defects. Recognized defects are stored in defect memory and the driver alerted via the SRS indicator lamp. A series of coded flashes from the SRS lamp will inform the technician as to what the problem is.

NOTE: Refer to Application and ID to verify control module identification. Application and ID

Flash Code Initiation

a) Turn ignition "OFF".
b) Set the rocker switches to "Memory Recall" and "Pin 6".
c) Screw the tool onto the diagnostic plug. If the vehicle has a 15 pin diagnostic plug also use special tool 61 2 060 - adapter.

- The GREEN LED must light up when the tool is screwed into place. If the RED LED lights immediately, the tool must be removed and reconnected until the GREEN LED lights up.

d) Switch the ignition to the "RUN" position. This must be done in one quick motion.

- The GREEN LED should go out and the RED LED should light. If the GREEN LED stays on immediately after the ignition is switched to "RUN", the procedure must be repeated by turning the ignition "OFF" and back to "RUN". After a 15 second delay the RED LED will go out and the GREEN LED will light.

- The flash code sequence will be displayed on the SRS warning lamp in the car.

NOTE: The LEDs on the tool will not flash.

- Flashing code will now run off and the number of flashes must be counted.

e) Proceed to the Trouble Code Table for code identification. Siemens Control Module
