SUBJECT:
Scope of Repairs on ZF Automatic Transmissions

Situation:
In order to reduce the cost of ownership, both during and after the warranty period, we recommend that the following repairs be performed at the dealership in lieu of installing an exchange transmission.

(1) Troubleshooting automatic transmission (Electrical and Hydraulic)

(2) External adjustments

(3) Replacing shift linkage, accelerator cable, and park mechanism

(4) Replacing all external seals and gaskets

(5) Replacing bellhousing and extension housing

(6) Replacing transfer plate

(7) Replacing torque converter

(8) Replacing oil pump

(9) Replacing governor

(10) Replacing output flange

(11) Replacing filter screen

(12) Replacing internal transmission wiring harness

(13) Replacing solenoid valves and pressure regulator

(14) Replacing pulse transmitter

(15) Replacing EGS control unit

(16) Replacing A-clutch assembly

At the present time, if more extensive repairs are needed, an exchange transmission should be installed.
