Code 3 (Fuel Injector CYL. 2+4+6 or 8+10+12)

INJECTOR VALVE CYL. 2+4+6 or 8+10+12
Explanation
This trouble code is stored when a break or short occurs at:

- Injector valve cyl. 2+4+6 or 8+10+12

- Wire from Digital Motor Electronic (DME) control unit Pin 3 to injector valve

- Output stage in the DME control unit

Note: The entire group of injector valves is always deactivated when a short occurs at one injector valve or on its supply wire. The three other cylinders of the same row of cylinders remain in operation.

Troubleshooting
- Activate the fuel injectors with tester. The activation cycle at a frequency of 10 Hz should be audible.
- Proceed with displayed scan tool diagnostic instructions if applicable.
