Explanation: By way of a separate diagnostic link from the relay module, Pin A10 to the general module, Pin C1 or B25, the general module detects whether the wiper relays in the relay module switch on (pull up) when the corresponding switch is switched on. If the wiper is switched off again, the general module checks via the diagnostic link whether the relays have switched off again. Defect code 02 is also stored if the diagnostic link itself has a break.

Possible cause: Power supply, wires GM-RM, relay in RM, diagnostic link.

Notes:

1. The diagnostic link for the wiper relays also serves as a test facility of the relay for central arrest. A defect in the windscreen wiper control system can therefore result in storage of a defect code in the central locking system and vice versa.

2. The defect code is also stored when the wiper operates in stage 2 with the anti-blocking function active.

Troubleshooting:

1. If all wiper functions have failed, continue with defect code 04.

2. Check following wires: From RM connector A (black) Pin 9 to GM connector B (green) Pin 3, from RM connector A Pin 20 to fuse. Repair defective wire.

3. If no malfunction can be found despite a defect code being stored (also check central locking system), check diagnostic link from RM connector B (black) Pin 10 to GM-C1 and repair if necessary.

4. If fuses, power unloader relay and wires are OK, renew relay modules.
