Torque Converter Lock-Up Regulator (Gradual Apply)

Torque Converter Lock-up Regulator (Gradual apply - EDS Controlled)

A5S 360R: The Torque Converter Lock Up Regulator Solenoid (TCC) is a normally closed valve that is controlled by a PWM control ground signal from the TCM. Increased pulse width increases the apply pressure -- decreased pulse width reduces the apply pressure.

The GS 20 is programmed to activate the TCC in third, fourth or fifth gears.

A5S 440/560Z: The EDS 4 solenoid valve controls the torque converter lock-up clutch (WK). The solenoid valve is normally open (failsafe). Power to the EDS 4 solenoid valve is supplied by the TCM.

The valve is activated by the TCM by switching the circuit to ground. Torque converter lock-up is possible in 4th or 5th gear.
