Front Fender: Service and Repair

41 35 000 Removing and installing or replacing left or right front side panel

Move hood lid into workshop position.

Remove or disconnect following parts:
- Trim on floor assembly
- Complete inner wheel arch trim
- Body moulding on side panel
- Side turn signals
- Headlight trim
- Top gasket on side panel
- Upper side panel edge guard







Note: Direction of view after wheel arch trim removed facing towards A pillar.

Unscrew bolts.







Loosen brackets for bumpers.
Unscrew screw.

Note: Direction of view from floor towards wheel arch.







Open door.
Unscrew screw.







Unscrew screw.







Unfasten upper retaining screws on side panel.
Secure hood lid in such a way that windshield and adjacent body sections are not damaged.
If necessary, mark at position of hood lid hinge.
Unfasten screws (1 and 2).

Note: Note washers under the retaining screws in the side panel.

Take off side panel.







Installation:
Fit in side panel and make sure of uniform spacing to door and hood lid.
Check that gasket in side panel is correctly located.
Check adjustment of hood lid and adjust hood lid if necessary.
