Circuit and terminal descriptions

BMW designates electrical circuits, including junctions and grounds, with unique designations, most of which follow the German DIN standard. See Table a. For example, if a relay terminal is labeled '30', it tells you that positive (+) voltage is supplied to that terminal at all times directly from the battery.

Electrical components are identified in the schematics using a letter followed by a number. For example, A6000 is the DME control module. The letter A identifies the component as an electronic control module. Table B lists the component alphacodes.
