Electronic Throttle Actuator Position Sensor: Description and Operation

The MDK is a unitized assembly, therefore the wish sensors are not serviceable. The sensor assembly is connected via linkage to the accelerator pedal. As the pulley and shaft are rotated, the twin potentiometers convert the movement into an electrical signal (5V supply) that is monitored by the MS42.0 ECM. This signal is a request for throttle opening. A twin potentiometer is used for back up redundancy (failsafe).

The only adjustment is the throttle cable "free play".
