SUBJECT
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) Not Recognized

MODEL
E46 (3 Series)

SITUATION

DSC control module cannot be automatically identified during diagnostic process.

CAUSE

Diagnostic software error.

CORRECTION

Manually identify the vehicle and then connect the diagnostic head to establish communication with the vehicle.

PROCEDURE

1. For all E46, except M3: the diagnostic software error will be corrected in CD39.

2. For M3: the diagnostic software error will be corrected in CD41.
