Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

61 31 019 - Removing and installing (replacing) ignition starter switch





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove audio system controller Removing and Installing/Replacing Audio System Controller
- Remove operator unit for heater/air conditioner Removing and Installing (Replacing) Control Panel for Heater - A/C System





Release screws (1) of ignition starter switch (2).





Slide ignition starter switch (1) forwards and feed out in direction of arrow.

Disconnect plug connection (2) and remove ignition starter switch (1).





Replacement:

Carry out coding/programming.

Observe following IDC specifications:

- Programming
- Coding
- Car & Key Memory
- CD "CIP"
Version with independent heating:

Initialize all independent heating remote controls Testing and Inspection.
