Center Console Switch Center

The switch center in the center console contains the pushbuttons for seat heating, roller sun blind, ASC/DSC, tire pressure control system (RDC), interior sound, and additionally on the convertible/roadster, pushbuttons for opening convertible top compartment cover and convertible top operation. The electronics for controlling the seat heating and roller sun blind is additionally integrated in the switch center.

Scope of function

General
The switch center has diagnostic capabilities. Communication takes place via the K-bus. Faults in the area of the seat heating and roller sun blind are stored in the fault memory. In addition, the inputs and outputs of the systems can be read out or activated via the diagnosis function.

Electronics
The switch center contains the electronics for controlling and regulating the seat heating and roller sun blind. It also stores the switching status of the space sound switch.
- Seat heating: Temperature control of seat heating in three preselectable heating stages, fault monitoring.
- Roller sun blind: Activation of roller sun blind drive after pressing corresponding push button, fault monitoring.
- Interior sound: Storage of switching status.

Push buttons
The pushbuttons for ASC/DSC, RDC and convertible top operation have no connection to the electronic control module of the switch center.

Variants
In view of the various vehicle equipment, there is a large variety of variants for the center console switch center. The switch center does not feature the electronic control on vehicles not equipped with seat heating, roller sun blind or interior sound. In this case, the system does not have diagnostic capabilities.
