Trunk Lid Release

The trunk lid/tailgate release makes it possible to unlock the trunk lid/tailgate electrically.

The tailgate/trunk lid is released via an electric drive with integrated return spring.

Function
The drive is activated by means of the general module V of the central body electronics.

The trunk lid/tailgate can be unlocked:
- By means of a button the trunk lid/tailgate when the vehicle is unlocked
- Via remote control, also when the vehicle is locked

In addition, the rear lid/tailgate can be opened mechanically with the vehicle key via the lock in the trunk lid/tailgate.

NOTE: Remote control functions are executed only if there is no key inserted in the ignition lock.

The trunk lid is not released electrically when the convertible top compartment lid is open so as to avoid both lids colliding and the resulting damage. The mechanical release by means of the trunk lid lock (emergency operation) is, however, still possible.

Hotel position
The opening function of the trunk lid/tailgate can be disabled by means of the lock barrel in the glovebox. When the glovebox lock is set in horizontal position with the vehicle key, the trunk lid/tailgate can no longer be released by means of the trunk lid/tailgate button.

It is still possible to open the trunk lid/tailgate with the remote control.
