Convertible Top Latch Actuator: Service and Repair

Removing And Installing/Replacing Drive For Convertible Top Lock

Remove trim from convertible top lock.


WARNING:
Danger of locking in position!
Secure convertible top compartment lid and convertible top against lowering.







Open convertible top compartment lid (1) and convertible top (2) as illustrated.







Unhook drive shafts (1) and (3) from mounts (5) and (4).
Detach drive shafts (1) and (3) in direction of arrow from drive for convertible top lock (2).

Installation:
Do not mix up drive shafts (1) and (3).
Drive shaft (1) = black sleeve.
Drive shaft (3) = white sleeve.







Pull out wiring harness (1) in direction of arrow.

Installation Note: Ensure wiring harness (1) is laid correctly.

Turn plug connections (2) in direction of arrow and unclip from mount (3).
Disconnect plug connections (2).







Unlock plug housing (3).
Disconnect plug housings (3) and (4) in direction of arrow.
Release screws (1) and remove drive for convertible top lock (2).

Installation Note: Replace screws (1).
