Temperature Control (Heater Control)

Temperature Control

Temperature control
The temperature of the heating controls is regulated exclusively by a mechanical mixing flap. This flap allows the through-flowing air (depending on the flap angle) to flow through the heat exchanger or past it.

6-cylinder models only:
If the rotary switch for the setpoint temperature is set to max. COLD, a microswitch switches on the water valve thus keeping the water circuit closed. The heat exchanger is then completely separated from the cooling circuit.

Diesel models only:
In the event of a high heat requirement, the auxiliary heater is activated by means of a microswitch in the recirculated-air/rear-window defroster double switch.
