Unlocking/Locking Airbag Plug Connections


WARNING: Note safety regulations for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners.

CAUTION:
If an airbag plug connection is damaged, it must be replaced.

Airbag plug connection on gas generator/airbag module angled 90°.







There are two ways of unlocking this airbag plug connection on the gas generator/airbag module:
Method 1:
Pull cover (1) upwards by lugs on left and right (2).







Cover (1) is now positioned higher than housing (2).
The airbag plug connection is unlocked and can now be detached from the gas generator/airbag module.







Method 2:
Insert a narrow screwdriver into recess (1) in housing (2).
Use screwdriver to pull cover (3) up (4).







Cover (1) is now positioned higher than housing (2).
The airbag plug connection is unlocked and can now be detached from the gas generator/airbag module.







Installation Note: After the airbag plug connection for gas generator/airbag module is connected, press cover (1) downwards until it rests flush on housing.

Check that it catches properly.

1 = Locking/unlocking plate.
2 = Retaining lug visible in opening in locking/unlocking plate, locking/unlocking plate is locked here.

Unlocking procedure:
Press on edge (4) of locking/unlocking plate.
The opposing edge (3) of the locking/unlocking plate snaps upwards and releases the retaining lug (2).







1 = Free opening for retaining lug in locking/unlocking plate, locking/unlocking plate is unlocked here.
2 = Locking/unlocking plate.

The airbag plug connection is unlocked and can now be detached from the gas generator/airbag module.







Installation Note:
1 = Locking/unlocking plate.
2 = Retaining lug visible in opening in locking/unlocking plate, locking/unlocking plate is locked here.
After the airbag plug connection for gas generator/airbag module is connected, check whether retaining lug (2) is visible in opening in locking/unlocking plate (1).
The airbag plug connection for gas generator/airbag module can only be correctly engaged when the retaining lug (2) is visible.
