61 31 342 - Removing and installing/replacing gear selector switch

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect battery negative lead Disconnecting and Connecting Battery Negative Lead
- Remove trim for storage compartment 51 16 211 - Removing and installing/replacing finisher for storage tray





Disconnect plug connection (1).
Release screws (3) and lay emergence release mechanism to one side. Tightening torque 61 31 7AZ Specifications.
Release screws (2). Tightening torque 61 31 6AZ Specifications.
Remove gear selector switch (4) from center console (5).

Installation Note:
Align gear selector switch (4) centrally.





Replacement:
Modify spacer bolt.
Carry out vehicle programming/coding Programming and Relearning.
