SUBJECT
CCC SVS: Letter and Number Inputs by Voice are Misinterpreted

MODEL
E90, E91, E92 (3 Series) with CCC Navigation SA 609
E60, E61 (5 Series) with CCC Navigation SA 609
E63, E64 (6 Series)
E70 (X5) with CCC Navigation SA 609

SITUATION
Letter and number inputs using CCC (Car Communication Computer) SVS (Voice Recognition System) are misinterpreted. With the "destination input" and "phone number input" voice input functions, the system fails to interpret the letters and numbers correctly.

CAUSE
CCC SVS software

PROCEDURE
Do not replace any parts for this situation.

Inform the customer of the following in order to ensure proper operation.

The letters and numbers must be called out one after the other without pausing.

Example: For a destination, say M-o-n-t-v-a-l-e, not M-Pause-o-Pause-n-Pause-t-Pause-v-Pause-a- Pause-l-Pause-e

Example: For a telephone number, say 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-0, not 1-Pause-2-Pause-3-Pause-4-Pause- 5-Pause-6-Pause-7-Pause-8-Pause-9-Pause-0 The system detection rate is better when the letters or numbers are spoken clearer and closer together.
