Crankshaft - exhaust camshaft, reference: Angle difference
within limit

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the adaptation data of the
exhaust camshaft.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the adaptation data display a
deviation of more than 20 ° Crankshaft or 10 ° Camshaft.
Potential problem source(s):
- Incorrect timing
- VANOS maladjusted or sticking
Terminal condition: none
Voltage condition:
- None
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
Engine speed < 3008 rpm

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory
immediately.

Action in service
- Check valve timing
- Check reluctor ring to confirm that it is installed correctly
- Check camshaft for correct VANOS position
